Interview with Caroline H\u00e9naut<\/em><\/p>\n

Hello, my name is Caroline H\u00e9naut.<\/p>\n

What is your professional background?<\/strong>
\n“I have been a teacher of French as a Foreign Language at the CCFS<\/a> for almost 25 years, and I must say that it’s a true joy. We meet students from all around the world, united by their love for the French language and culture.”<\/p>\n

Tell us about a typical day:<\/strong>
\n“At the beginning of the class, we usually talk a bit about ourselves, what we have recently done (restaurants, cinema, or other activities), each person speaking regardless of their level. These exchanges are particularly lively and dynamic, and they allow us to smoothly transition to grammar, which we delve into with good cheer.”<\/p>\n

What advice would you give to students who want to learn French?<\/strong>
\n“If I have to give one piece of advice to my students or to prospective CCFS students in general, it’s to never get discouraged: although it may be difficult at first, French is a magnificent language. I remember a student at level A2 (beginner) in one of my classes who showed deep discouragement, regularly telling me ‘I can’t do it, I won’t manage.’<\/p>\n

As time passed, we unfortunately lost touch. But many years later, I received a message on Facebook written in admirable French saying: you were my teacher! Remember, I am Erine and I studied with you at the CCFS. This young lady, who previously thought she would never master French, was now teaching Moli\u00e8re’s language in Hawaii!<\/p>\n

Learning French can sometimes be an extraordinary journey, a true adventure that you can embark on if you wish!”<\/p>\n
