This UNESCO World Heritage Site is also home to \u00cele Saint-Louis and contributes to the richness of France&#8217;s cultural heritage.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Ch\u00e2teau de Versailles<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The Palais de Versailles is one of the architectural masterpieces of Paris, thus being one of the most famous UNESCO listed sites. Built during the 17th century under the direction of Louis XIV, this Palace was originally a simple hunting lodge which was gradually transformed into a royal residence, seat of the French absolute monarchy. If you choose to visit Versailles during the summer season you will have the pleasure of attending events such as musical fountains or night fountain shows.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Medieval\u00a0 town of Provins<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Located East of Paris, Provins\u00a0 is a magnificent medieval city which has managed to preserve its charm and historical heritage over the centuries. Founded back to the 12th century, Provins is famous thanks to its two main UNESCO World Heritage Sites &#8211; The Tour C\u00e9sar \u201cCaesar Tower,\u201d is indeed an iconic symbol of the city. The town of Provins is also renowned for its medieval festivals which attract many visitors every year wishing to attend the Rose Festival and the Saint-Martin Fair. During these events, the streets of Provins are full of costumed artisans, jugglers, musicians and knights, who together recreate the festive atmosphere of the Middle Ages.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Fontainebleau <\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Located about 55 kilometers southeast of Paris, Fontainebleau\u00a0 is a historic town renowned for its castle and forest. The Ch\u00e2teau de Fontainebleau, which dates back to the 12th century, was home to many French kings and emperors, including Napoleon Bonaparte. It is renowned for its spectacular architecture, gardens and lavish interiors. The Fontainebleau Forest, beside its beautiful natural environment, is and ideal place if you wish to practice outdoor activities:\u00a0 you will indeed find several hiking, climbing and horseback riding trails.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Sport, culture and leisure for free!<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The City of Paris promotes cultural discovery and activities for students. If you are under 26yo,\u00a0 you will be able to access national monuments, and <a href=\"\/?p=784\">museums<\/a> permanent collections for free. The \u201cKiosque jeunesse\u201d also gives free invitations to shows including theater concerts or festivals.
